Public Affairs (PA)

Public affairs is human affairs

Public affairs is no longer just about directly influencing decision-makers; it is also about working with people. Every decision, from road tax to healthcare, affects our lives and of the people around us. We understand that decision-makers are ordinary people who are influenced by their environment. Decisions are shaped by way more than just the decision-maker themselves, or direct conversations.

We believe in four Arenas of Influence that are essential for effective policy advocacy: stakeholders, influencers, the inner circle, and direct conversations. All of these different arenas with their own channels greatly influence the final decision. For a successful public affairs approach, all these arenas should be taken into account.

At Omnicom Public Affairs, we carefully analyse these Arenas of Influence to develop strategic plans aimed at effectively influencing policy. With our expertise in political communication and advocacy, we strengthen societal engagement at various levels: locally, in The Hague, in Brussels, and beyond. This allows us to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time, contributing to a significant impact on policymaking.

You may need to:

  • Get a seat at the table with important political decision makers.
  • Build a coalition of stakeholders, allies, ambassadors, and influencers to promote your position.
  • Have access to early warning and intelligence concerning developments in the Netherlands and the European Union.
  • Manage relations with government institutions, Parliament, and regulatory bodies, both inside and outside of the Hague.
  • Combine an effective lobbying strategy with a public relations or advocacy campaign to send out your message.
