Mastercard campaign ranks 14th of best PR campaigns worldwide

As the end of the year approaches, we are proud to look back at one of our highlights of 2022. Mastercard’s impactful ‘True Name’ campaign has been named as the 14th best PR campaign of 2022 worldwide at the Global SABRE Awards!

True Name™ campaign

A major pain point for the LGBTQIA+ community is that community members often do not identify with the name on their payment cards. With Mastercard True Name, cardholders can now put a preferred name reflecting their true identity, on their payment card. We supported the Mastercard True Name campaign with an impactful PR rollout, in less than three months and in thirthy different countries. Working closely with LGBTQIA+ organizations, Mastercard ended up reaching 74+ million in free-publicity across Europe.

Award-winning campaign

Earlier this year, the campaign also won two EMEA SABRE Awards in the category Best In Brand Purpose and in Financial services. Additionally, at the end of 2021, the campaign won an European Excellence Award in the category Brand Relationship.
